In a tragic incident, a three year old boy was found dead in his stepmother's car, after she allegedly forgot he was asleep in the back seat in scorching temperatures in Videira, Brazil.
The dehydrated body of the minor was discovered in the red Chrysler on April 25 after being left for over 10 hours. His mother's partner reportedly forgot to drop him off at nursery school when he dozed off in the vehicle’s back seat.
She was supposed to leave him at the nursery in at 7am. However, after dropping her wife – the young boy's mother - at work, she forgot about the kid and left him in the car. She only discovered his body later when she went to pick him up from nursery, reports the Mirror.
Temperatures in Videira soared to highs of 31C and, inside a car, it could have surged to as high as 57C – akin to a heated oven.
Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death and are interrogating the deceased's stepmother.
Authorities are awaiting an autopsy report to determine the exact cause of the kid's death and are also reviewing CCTV footages around the family home.
