Kyiv: A latest video of areas abandoned by the Russian forces has revealed the troops had dug trenches in the Red Forest, the most contaminated area of Chernobyl's exclusion zone.
According to BusinessInsider, the video shows land that looks dug up, in a continuous shot that pans to an image of the sarcophagus covering the site of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident in the distance.
It was filmed by the Ukrainian military and released on Telegram by Energoatom, the state-owned operator of Ukraine's nuclear power plants.
The video was captioned: "Video proof. Russian command did order its soldiers to dig fortifications near the Chornobyl (Chernobyl) nuclear power plant in the radioactive Red Forest in March, 2022."
