Bhubaneswar: The counting trends on Tuesday for Odisha show that the BJP is all set to make a huge dent in the Biju Janata Dal bastion comfortably in both the assembly and Lok Sabha seats.
As per the Election Commission trends available for 21 Lok Sabha seats, BJP is leading in 19 seats while the BJD and INC on 1 seat each.
From Sambalpur Parliamentary seat, BJP's Dharmendra Pradhan was leading by 85702 votes against his BJD rival Pranab Prakash Das. From the Puri seat, BJP's Sambit Patra was leading by 68757 votes over his close rival Anup Mohan Patnaik of the BJD.
Meanwhile, BJP's national Vice president Baijayant Panda was leading by 13965 votes over the BJD's Anshuman Mohanty from the Kendrapara seat.
The state that simultaneously went for Assembly elections too saw BJP gaining in the latest trends.
The trends available for 147 seats show, the BJP is ahead on 77 seats, BJD on 53, INC on 15 seats, Independents on one seat and CPI (M) on one seat.
