New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his Adani-Ambani jibe linking the grand old party with the two industrialists.

In a video clip posted on micro-blogging site 'X', Gandhi challenged PM Modi to send CBI and ED to the two business houses and get an inquiry done whether they paid money to the Congress.

"Namaskar Modi Ji. It seems you are scared. Normally, you talk about Adani-Ambani in closed rooms but now you are mentioning them publicly. Do they give money in tempos? Is it your personal experience? Do one thing. I challenge you to send CBI and ED to these industrial houses and take complete information (on whether they gave money to Congress)," he said.

He further said, " I want to reiterate that the amount of money which Narendra Modi has given to these industrialists, we will give the same amount of money to the poor via Mahalakshmi scheme and Guaranteed First Job for the eligible youth. The (BJP) have made 22 billionaires. We will make crores of Lakhpatis," he further said.

Addressing an election rally in Telangana on Wednesday, PM Modi suggested that there was something suspicious about Rahul Gandhi allegedly going silent overnight about the two industrial houses after the announcement of general elections.

"Has the Congress received tempo loads of notes? What deal has been arrived at that abusing Ambani-Adani has stopped overnight," PM Modi asked.
