Tirumala: Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud, on his maiden visit, along with his family members offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy at the famous hill shrine here on Thursday.
The CJI and his family members also offered prayers at Sri Varaha Swamy temple.
Earlier, on his arrival at the temple Mahadwaram, he was received by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman Y V Subba Reddy, Executive Officer (FAC) Anil Kumar Singhal followed by the traditional Istikaphal welcome amidst chanting of hymns and melam. He was led inside the temple for darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
Justice Chandrachud was explained about the significance of the Mula Virat and the history of the temple by the temple priests inside the sanctum sanctorum.
After the darshan of Venkateswara Swamy, the CJI was offered 'Vedasirvachanam' by Vedic Pundits at Ranganayakula Mandapam.
Later, the TTD Chairman presented 'Theertha Prasadams' of the Lord and 2023 Calendars and Diaries of the TTD along with the lamination photo of Lord Venkateswara that was prepared using Dry Flower Technology. (UNI)
