10 killed in 2 road mishaps due to fog in UP

Lucknow: At least 10 people were killed in two separate road accidents in Amethi and Shahjahanpur district due to dense fog late Monday night.
A report from Amethi said that  five people were killed and one other critically injured when an SUV hit a truck on the Gauriganj-Amethi road near Barhamasi village at around 2300 hours.
Surendra Kashyap (45), Srichand (42), Kalpanath ( 43), Dheeraj (38) and Manoj (27) were killed on the spot.
  
Critically injured Baijnath, 40, was admitted to the hospital.In another accident in Shahjahanpur, five people of a family, who were going to attend a wedding ceremony, were killed when their car fell into a roadside ditch near Sanda village under the Nigohi police station area at around 2200 hours on Monday. 
 
The deceased were identified as Zakim, Yamin, Ashfaq, Gaurav and Lala, all in the age group of 20 to 25 years.
 
The people were going to Pilibhit when their car skidded off the road and fell into the ditch due to dense fog.All the deceased were natives of  Shantipuram colony in Shahjahanpur.(UNI)
