Srinagar:Seventeen youth, who were detained for taking part in pro-Palestine protest in the summer capital, Srinagar, were on Sunday released after ‘counselling through community bond’.
A police spokesperson said that in its endeavour to strengthen the bond between police and public and to bring teenagers back into the mainstream, Srinagar Police today hands over 17 boys to their families after counselling through community bond.
He said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Sandeep Chaudhary today held counselling cum interaction meeting with the family members of ‘misguided’ youth.“During the counselling, family members of the boys were advised to take proper care of their wards and keep a watch upon their activities, actions and behavior,” he said.
The parents assured that they will guide their children towards positive direction so that they could not get engaged in such activities which can lead to spread of infection,” he said.
He said these boys were arrested for participating in protests in violation of Section 51 of DM Act during Corona Curfew.SSP Srinagar Sandeep Chaudhary once again appealed to the youngsters to concentrate on their studies and career building, he added.(UNI)
