Nashik: A bar owner was injured when two youths attacked him with a knife after being refused free liquor, at Manmad city of the district last night.
The bar owner, Kuljit Singh Kant, saved his life as he dodged the attack in time. However, he was injured in the neck.
This incident has created a stir among the traders. The traders' federation has condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the accused.
The attack was captured on CCTV cameras. The police, taking cognizance of the incident, immediately arrested both the accused and registered a case against them.
Police Inspector Vijay Kare, giving information about the incident, said: "The incident took place last night. There is a hotel called Hotel Punjab in front of Chopra Petrol Pump on the Pune-Indore Highway. At around 10:30 pm. the owner of the hotel, Kuljit Singh Kant, was sitting in the hotel. At that time, both the accused came. They asked the hotel owner for free liquor. The hotel owner refused to give them liquor. Due to this, the accused attacked the hotel owner. The hotel owner blocked the first of these attacks. But the attackers attacked again. The hotel owner was injured in the attack.
The police immediately arrested both the accused within 15 minutes after this incident. The accused were produced in court today. The court has remanded the accused in police custody for four days," informed Police Inspector Vijay Kare.
