Mumbai: A designated National Investigation Agency court here today granted bail to two accused in the 29th September, 2008, Malegaon blasts case in which six persons had been killed and several others injured. Sudhakar Chaturvedi and Sudhakar Dwivedi had moved for bail after Lt. Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit, another accused in the case, was granted bail and released from jail on 23rd August.
They urged the court to grant them bail on parity basis. The court was also told that they were languishing in jail since a long period and were charge sheeted long back. Chaturvedi was arrested after alleged recovery of RDX from his house, which had ultimately led to the arrest of Purohit. The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad had filed a charge sheet against 14 right-wing extremists in the case. (UNI)
