AAP volunteers take over the house of 3 mayors of BJP-ruled MCDs demanding CBI probe into Rs 2500 crores scam

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party councilors and hundreds of AAP volunteers held a gherao strike at the homes of the three mayors of the BJP-ruled MCD today, under the leadership of North Delhi Municipal Corporation AAP LOP Shri Vikas Goel, East Delhi Municipal Corporation AAP LOP Shri Manoj Tyagi, and South Delhi Municipal Corporation AAP LOP Shri Prem Singh Chouhan.

The protest was held against the Rs 2500 crores scam in the North Delhi Municipal Corporation. All the AAP councilors and volunteers together surrounded the houses of the mayors of the three MCDs and raised slogans against the BJP and the mayors, demanding a CBI inquiry into the Rs 2500 crores scam in the BJP-ruled NDMC.

Senior AAP leader and MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak said, “The BJP has been in power in the MCD for the last 15 years. In these 15 years, the BJP did not do anything other than corruption. The people of Delhi handed over the MCD to the BJP for the responsibility of cleaning Delhi which is one of the most important works of the MCD, along with hundreds of other responsibilities that come under the ambit of the MCD. But you go to any street in Delhi today, there are heaps of garbage everywhere. The drains are full of dirt. The BJP councilors are extorting money from all residential buildings in Delhi. But these councilors are not interested in fulfilling their responsibility of ensuring cleanliness in Delhi that has been entrusted to them by the people of Delhi. The culmination of corruption has become so high that today the BJP is not able to pay the doctors, nurses, teachers, sanitation workers, and all the other employees of the MCD. Despite such a bad plight of the MCD, the BJP’s shamelessness is that they have done a scam of Rs. 2500 crores in the NDMC. The biggest ever scam in the history of Delhi was considered the Commonwealth scam. But the BJP’s Rs 2500 crores scam done by these leaders who came in the MCD and defrauded the people of Delhi under their ‘Naye Chehre Nayi Udaan’ campaign, has even defeated the Commonwealth scam. This Rs 2500 crores scam is the biggest scam in Delhi’s history to date.”

He said, “With these 2500 crores, the salaries of all the employees of the MCD and their salaries for the entire year could be paid in advance. The BJP leaders as well as the mayors of the three MCDs are equally responsible for this Rs 2500 crores scam. That is why the AAP today gheraoed the houses of the mayors, led by the three LOPs of AAP. All AAP councilors and hundreds of volunteers protested against the Rs 2500 crores scam and protested peacefully outside the houses of the mayors and demanded a CBI inquiry into the scam. The BJP should conduct a CBI inquiry into the matter and give stringent punishment to whoever is responsible for this corruption. If the BJP does not conduct a CBI inquiry into this corruption, it will be assumed that the BJP is also an equal partner in the scam.”
