"For honour of the Nation, you kept duty ahead of your personal safety. Wearing India Colours on your sleeve, you showed calm and poise in adversity. Abhinandan you created history," went a tweet from the Defence Ministry spokesman's Twitter handle.
" .....and in you we find the best of the Indian Armed Forces. Bravo Air Warrior, more power to you," it further said.
There went several other missives welcoming the safe return of the Air Force pilot - who had fallen on February 27 and was captured subsequently by the Pakistan Army.
"Dear Wing Commander Abhinandan, entire nation is proud of your courage and valour. India is glad to have you back," tweeted BJP chief Amit Shah.
In his missive Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, "India's happiness on return of Wing Commander Abhinandan is unprecedented. I salute the courage and resilience of Wg Commander Abhinandan". In his missive in the micro blogging site, super star Amitabh Bachchan wrote: "Abhinandan...Swagatam Swagatam".
"One of my closest friend says ?A true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him" ~ her husband (a close friend again) is in Air Force...", he wrote.(UNI)
