New Delhi: The Indian National Congress on Thursday said its account on microblogging site -- Twitter -- was locked by the social media giant.
The grand-old party, in a post from its official Facebook page, said its Twitter account was locked and shared a screenshot which said it was locked for posting about people's personal information.
"When our leaders were put in jails, we were not scared, why would we be afraid of closing our Twitter accounts now. We are Congress, this is the message of the people, we will fight, we will keep fighting. If it is a crime to raise our voice to get justice for the rape victim girl, then we will do this crime a hundred times," Congress said.
On August 7, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi's account was also blocked for sharing a photo of the parents of the minor girl who was allegedly raped and murdered in Delhi. Mr Gandhi's account has remained locked since then.
Apart from Mr Gandhi, the accounts of many other Congress leaders, including Ajay Maken, Sushmita Dev, and Randeep Surjewala, have been also blocked by Twitter. (UNI)
