Lucknow:Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday made a controversial statement claiming that there is no Corona in the country and BJP was making the hue and cry just to frighten the opposition and the people. He also announced that he will not take the BJP vaccine and will not fall prey to their conspiracy.
" There is no Corona virus anywhere in the country. BJP was just raking up the Corona stories to frighten the opposition political parties and the people protesting against them. I have come here without any face mask and sitting amongst you all," Mr Yadav told reporters here on Saturday and even asked the media persons to inform him where is Corona.
He said that BJP was doing everything but when opposition was seeking permission to hold any programme they were denied due to Corona, which shows how the ruling party was targeting the opposition in the name of Corona.
"I am not going to get vaccinated for now. How can I trust BJP's vaccine, when our government will be formed everyone will get free vaccine. We cannot take BJP's vaccine," Mr Yadav said.
The controversial statement of the SP president comes when UP government was holding dry run for the Covid 19 vaccination process in Lucknow and preparing to start vaccination programme from Makar Sankranti day.
On the day, Akhilesh Yadav also met several saints and monks from Ayodhya and sought their blessings for the 2022 assembly polls.Later announced that when Samajwadi Party government comes to power in the state, the entire Ayodhya will enjoy tax free status so that everyday or 365 days in the year people can celebrate festival of Diwali in the temple city.
Mr Yadav said Ayodhya is a symbol of unity and integrity but BJP has turned it into a place of religious conflict to gain vote mileage." We have tried to save the democracy and humanity by supporting all the religion. I believe in God and hence made a temple inside my house. But the BJP was making all efforts to divide the community on religion," he alleged.
Commenting on the Ordinance on Conversion for marriage by the BJP government, he said on one hand the UP government was providing Rs 50,000 for inter caste marriage but on the other hand had brought the Love Jehad law. This shows their double standard," he said.
He also slammed the BJP for ignoring the plights of the farmers, who are protesting in this chilly winter season near Delhi over the new farm law.(UNI)
