The so-called godman was admitted to a private hospital after he came to know about the registration of a rape case by a Chhattisgarh girl against him. The police also sought a medical board report, in which the Baba was declared physically and mentally healthy. Baba's blood samples were also taken, after which he arrested.

Police did not seek his custody for questioning and indicated that they have strong evidence of rape against the Baba. Falahari Baba's counsel Ashok Sharma urged the court to provide medical facilities to him. The lawyer also filed a bail petition in which he contended that the victim, a student of law, lodged an FIR with police after much procrastination. (UNI)
