Amit Shah along with other Ministers assume charges of respective portfolios

Union Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday took charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs, for the second time in a row at the North Block here.

Before assuming the office, Shah paid tribute at the National Police Memorial.He posted on social media X, "Remembering the martyrs of our police forces who laid down their lives guarding the honour of the nation and whose saga of sacrifice immortalised the fervour of patriotism forever. Paid floral tributes in their memory at the National Police Memorial.”

Shah in 2019 had took over the rein of the Home Ministry from Rajnath Singh who was allocated the Defence Ministry.Shah won from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, Gujarat by defeating his rival Sonal Ramanbhai Patel of the Congress by a margin of 7,44,716 votes.

Jitendra Singh assumes charge as Minister of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions

Jitendra Singh assumed charge as Minister of State for the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions for the third consecutive term Tuesday in North Block.

After taking charge, Singh said, “The last 10 years have witnessed a series of revolutionary governance reforms happening under the leadership of PM Modi, and these will continue during this term.”

Singh thanked PM Modi for reposing faith in him once again and giving him this responsibility for the third consecutive term. He has held this portfolio since 2014.

Singh is a Member of Parliament from the Udhampur Lok Sabha Constituency, an official statement by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, said.

Addressing the media after taking charge, Singh said reforms would continue till Mission Viksit Bharat is attained and this would be a continuation of work that had been done over the last decade.

Singh, while highlighting the achievements of DoPT, said that governance reforms in the last 10 years under the guidance of PM Modi were path breaking and inspired by the spirit of Minimum Government and Maximum Governance, increasing citizen centricity to bring ease of living to every citizen of the country.

He also highlighted reforms such as pensions for widowed and divorced daughters, reforms in rules and regulations in the working of various government departments, discarding the interview process for selection, providing level playing field to aspirants from remote areas and doing away with age old rules and regulations.

Singh added that administrative reforms and the landmark Karmayogi Mission are some of the revolutionary reforms taken during last two terms. He categorically mentioned that CPGRAMS is a role model for public grievance redressal across the world.

V. Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, along with S. Radha Chauhan, Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, and other senior officials were present while the union minister assumed charge.

Khattar holds meet on power supply

 A day after allocation of portfolios, many ministers of the new NDA government on Tuesday assumed charge in their offices in the national capital.

Among senior ministers, newly-appointed Manohar Lal Khattar took charge as Union Power Minister in addition to his other portfolio of Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs at Shram Shakti Bhawan today.

The Union Minister was briefed by senior officials of the Minister of Power and after taking the charge, he also took a review meeting regarding the power supply position in the country.

Assuming charge as Foreign Minister again, S Jaishankar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for assigning him the responsibility.

Ashwini Vaishnaw assumed charge as Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting here today. Speaking with the media on the occasion, Vaishnav said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to the upliftment of the poor. He also retains his Railway portfolio.

Cabinet minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also took charge as Minister of Communications. Senior BJP leader from Rajasthan, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat took charge as Minister of Culture.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took charge of Shipping and Ports in his office here today.

Addressing the office bearers as well as the staff, the Minister evoked confidence in the team for delivering goals and objectives with a vision to serve the people of this country.

Ashwini Vaishnaw assumes charge as Railway and I&B minister

Ashwini Vaishnaw, who has been retained as Union Railway Minister and given charge of new ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tuesday assumed charge.

Speaking with the media on the occasion, Vaishnav said that the Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to the upliftment of poor.

The Minister reiterated the Cabinet decision for construction of 3 crore rural and urban houses and said that the first Cabinet decision on the first day of the Government was devoted to the empowerment of poor.

He further stated that the Government will continue to serve the people of the country.

In the previous government Vaishnaw held the portfolio of Ministry of Communications along with Railways. He has been replaced with Jyotiraditya Scindia in the Ministry of Communications.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for this opportunity to serve as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

Vaishnaw was welcomed by Secretary Sanjay Jaju and other senior officials of the Ministry and Media Units under the Ministry.

Chirag Paswan takes charge as Food Processing Industries minister

Chirag Paswan assumed charge as Union Minister for Food Processing Industries at Panchsheel Bhawan, here on Tuesday.

He was welcomed by Secretary Anita Praveen and other senior officials.After assuming the charge, Chirag Paswan met the senior officials of the ministry and reviewed the schemes, an official statement said.

While thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for delegating the responsibility of the Food Processing Ministry, Paswan said he will put all his efforts and will take forward the objectives of the Ministry.

After taking over the charge, Paswan chaired a review meeting of all ongoing schemes and the future planning of the Ministry and directed the officials to work towards achieving the 100 days plan of the Government.Chirag Paswan is a Member of Parliament from Hajipur in Bihar.

Jitan Ram Manjhi takes charge as MSME Minister; Shobha Karandlaje as MoS

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Tuesday assumed charge of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).Shobha Karandlaje also took charge as Minister of State in Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, an official statement said.

She had earlier served as the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Minister of State for Food Processing Industries in the Modi 2.0 Cabinet.

Secretary (MSME) and all senior officers of the Ministry welcomed the Union Minister and the Minister of State.

Addressing the media after taking charge, Jitan Ram Manjhi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for including him in the vision 2047 and making him a part of the journey of Atmanirbhar Bharat that includes MSMEs as a focal point.

The Minister of State said that efforts would be made to make MSMEs self-reliant and to increase their share in GDP.It may be mentioned that Manjhi was the Chief Minister of Bihar between 2014 and 2015.

Both the Ministers asked the Ministry officials to leave no stone unturned in their respective field for empowerment of MSMEs.

Nadda takes charge as MoHFW, Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister

BJP President JP Nadda on Tuesday took charge as the Union Minister for Health and family Welfare (MoHFW) here.Nadda was welcomed by Secretary Apurva Chandra and other senior officials at the Nirman Bhawan.

On this occasion, Ministers of State in the Ministry, Anupriya Patel and Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao were also present.

Shivraj Singh takes charge of Agriculture Ministry; Ramnath Thakur, Bhagirath Choudhary as MoS

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare here on Tuesday.

Speaking to media, after assuming charge, Chauhan said that he was happy to say that the first decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday was in the interest of the farmers, an official statement said.

He said the Prime Minister had resolved to double the income of farmers and the government will take every possible step for the welfare of farmers.The Minister also added that the NDA government has been committed for farmers’ welfare for past ten years and his Ministry will continue to work for achieving the goals.

Chouhan also visited various offices in the Ministry and interacted with the staff at various levels including cleanliness workers.

He exhorted them to work as a team for achieving the government’s vision for welfare of farmers and work in cooperation with each other.

He also visited Krishi integrated command and control center in the Ministry and saw facilities to review the agriculture scenario within the country including crop production and drought preparedness.

Later, he held a meeting of senior officials of the Ministry and underscored the need for transparency in the Ministry functioning.

He also handed the government manifesto for welfare of farmers and rural development and called upon everyone to work towards its fulfilment.

The Minister asserted that Narendra Modi is a visionary leader and called upon the officials to work on a roadmap for achieving goals set up in the manifesto. He said improving upon the lives of Annadata should be the mission of Ministry.

Meanwhile, Ramnath Thakur and Bhagirath Choudhary also took charge as Ministers of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

The Ministers were welcomed by Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ welfare Manoj Ahuja, Secretary, DARE Himanshu Pathak and other senior officials of the Ministry(UNI)
