Eluru, AP: In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old girl, who passed 10th class recently, was raped in the classroom of her school by a minor boy and the heinous act was video-graphed by four others at Mandavalli village.

Though the incident took place on May 15, it came to light on Thursday as the parents of the girl complained to the police.

According to the police, the 15-year-old victim passed 10th class and she went to her school to collect her marks list. At the same time, five of her schoolmates, including a minor boy, also went to school.

When the victim was going home after taking her marks list, the accused dragged the girl to a classroom and one of them, a 15-year-old boy, raped her. The other four persons, Bala Subramanyam (22), Chandrasekhar (22), Teja (19), and Harikrishna (20) video graphed the heinous act of molestation with their mobile phones.

Later the five-member gang started blackmailing the parents of the girl for money. Though the parents, fearing social stigma, offered Rs 2 lakh to the five-member gang, they demanded a huge amount.

However, the accused posted the footage of molestation on WhatsApp groups. The parents of the girl complained to the Mandavalli police. Kaikalur Rural Circle Inspector Krishna Kumar and Mandavalli SI Ramachandra Rao registered a case and held the rapist, the minor boy. The Juvenile court sent him to a Juvenile home.

The police also arrested the other four persons who video graphed the heinous act of rape and produced them before the court which sent them to 14 judicial remand.

Responding to the heinous act, Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission Chairperson Gajjala Venkata Lakshmi directed the Eluru district officials to provide security to the victim. She spoke to the mother of the victim over the phone and assured her of extending all help.

The Women's Commission Chairperson expressed concern at the growing incidents of atrocities against women and sexual assault on girls and young women. Though rigorous punishments are being given to the accused in various cases that failed to deter the criminals from stopping atrocities against the women, she lamented.
