Sirsi (Karnataka): After predicting the comprehensive victory of the Congress party in the Karnataka assembly election, noted Astrologer Jyotishi Pandit Neelakanta Guruji has predicted hung assembly in Telangana elections leading to a possible formation of a coalition government led by the BJP.
"According to stars, a possibility of formation of coalition government supported by BJP in the offing in the upcoming Telangana elections because no party is going to get majority," he told this news agency on the sidelines of Sarpa Dosha Nivarane Maha Yagna conducted by Sri Raghavendra Mutt here.
Amidst media predicting a hung assembly in Karnataka in the runup to the assembly election, Neelankanta had forecast a landslide victory of the Congress party and the formation of the government led by a former chief minister, namely Siddaramaiah.
The Congress won 135 seats in the 224-member assembly and ousted BJP from power, which won in 66 constituencies, while the JDS managed to win 19 seats.
Neelakanta Guruji also had predicted that there would be confusion till May 18 on the issue of anointing the new chief minister of the state.
Congress announced Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister and DK Shivakumar as Deputy Chief Minister on May 18 after several parleys in New Delhi.
However, Neelakanta Guruji predicts that BJP cannot be counted in Karnataka as they would bounce back around the runup to the 2024 Lok Sabha election in Karnataka.
Asked about the stability of the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka, he said, "I would be able to make the prediction after November 7, when the stars change their position."
On Telangana assembly elections, Neelakanta Guruji said there is a dosha (shortcoming) in the horoscope of K Kavitha, which will affect Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's electoral prospects.
"The number of seats of KCR's Bharat Rashtra Samiti will dwindle in the upcoming Telangana election. This will result in hung assembly, paving the way for a coalition government. There is a possibility of the BJP leading the government," he said.
Neelankanta Guruji said Kavita would face the anger of the people of Telangana for her alleged involvement in unlawfully modifying the excise policy, resulting in BJP gaining in seats.
The ED and the CBI had alleged that irregularities were committed while modifying the excise policy, undue favours were extended to licence holders, the licence fee was waived or reduced, and the L-1 licence was extended without the competent authority's approval.
The beneficiaries diverted "illegal" gains to the accused officials and made false entries in their books of account to evade detection.
Telangana came into existence on 2 June 2014. The previous assembly polls in December 2018 saw the BRS (then TRS) emerging on top with an absolute majority and the tenure of the House is due to end by December 2023. (UNI)
