BJP set to lose Manipur after 3 MLAs resign and 6 others withdraw support

Imphal:BJP led coalition government is now facing a crisis as nine MLAs have announced their decision to withdraw support from the BJP led government in Manipur and support the Congress party.
Three BJP MLAs have tendered their resignation as MLA and from the primary membership of the party and joined the Congress.The three MLAs of BJP Samuel Jendai, TT Haokip ,Subashchandra were formally welcomed by O Ibobi, former CM and other Congress leaders today.
Four National People's Party (NPP) MLAs all Cabinet ministers in the Biren government
also announced their decision to withdraw support. The four MLAs were Y Joykumar,L Jayantakumar, Letpao Haokip and N Kayisii also submitted their papers to the Chief
Minister.AITC MLA, L Robindro and Independent MLA Ashabuddin also announced their decisions to withdraw their support to the government.
O Ibobi said Congress has 27 MLAs and has support of four NPP, one each of AITC
and Independent hence it has 33 on its side. The BJP has 26 on its side but after
resignation of three MLAs it has only 23 MLAs. One is vacant now after disqualification
of Th Shyamkumar.
He said the Congress will demand that a floor test be done immediately. A press
