BJP to go it alone in 2019 general elections in Telangana

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana unit President Dr K Laxman, MLA has reiterated that the party would go it alone in the state in the next general elections.He categorically ruled out any alliance with other parties in 2019 general elections adding that the party would contest the polls on its own. The Party National President Amit Shah had clarified in this regard at a recent meeting held in New Delhi, Dr.Laxman revealed.
In a chat with media here Sunday, Dr Laxman said that Mr Amit Shah had also clarified that there would be no early polls nor delimitation of Constituencies.He said that Mr Shah asked the party's state unit to complete the constitution of party functionaries from booth to State level and concentrate on local issues. Mr Shah also advised the state party leaders not to conduct huge political meetings till June next. After June he (Amit Shah) asked "us to speed up the process of election campaign".
Mr Amit Shah also asked the state party leaders not to bother about media which was not giving importance to BJP in Telangana. The BJP National President was conducing regular survey in Telangana, Karnataka, Odisha and other states, Dr Laxman said. He claimed that the party position in the state was good as the people wanted the "Modi mark good governance" in Telangana. Several people from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the Congress have been joining the BJP, he further claimed. (UNI)
