Centre declares Dawood Ibrahim, Hafeez Sayeed, Masood Azhar as individual terrorist

New Delhi: The Centre on Wednesday declared Maulana Msood Azhar, Dawood Ibrahim, Zaki Ur Rahman Lakhvi, and Hafeez Saeed as banned terrorists under the amended Unlawful Activity Prevention Act (UAPA).
According to a Gazette notification, Maulana Masood Azhar alias Maulana Mohammad Masood Azhar Alvi is founder, chief and key leader of proscribed terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad, which is listed as a terrorist organisation under the First Schedule of UAPA under serial number 6 whereas Hafiz Muhammad Saeed  is founder, chief and key leader of proscribed terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD).
 
LeT is listed as a terrorist organisation under the First Schedule to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at serial No 5.Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has also been designated as a global terrorist by the United Nations under the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1267 on the 10th December,  2008.(UNI)
