Now, Yogi Adityanath led UP govt to rename this district

Lucknow:After rechristening Allahabad as Prayagraj last year, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is in the process of changing the name of Chandauli district as Pandit Deendayal Nagar.
  
The state government had sought a report from the Chandauli district administration which has sent a positive response.
 
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to announce the changed name of the new districts during the foundation laying ceremony of the new medical college in Chandauli soon, government sources here on Thursday hinted.
  
 
Earlier, the famous Mugalsarai railway station was  renamed as Deendayal Upadhaya Junction, where the  RSS ideologue had died in a mysterious circumstances in the railway yard of the Mugalsarai station on February 11, 1968.
 
The district of Chandauli came into existence in 1997 during the Mayawati regime when it was made a separate district from Varanasi.
  
 
Chandauli district magistrate Navneet Singh Chahal told media that authorities have given the go ahead to the change of the name of the district. "It is up to the government to decide the name of the district and it has the power to change it," he said.
