Charges against me attempt to divert attention from real issues: Robert Vadra

New Delhi: Industrialist and the brother-in-law of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Robert Vadra has termed charges against him over alleged irregularities in a series of land deals in Gurgaon as an attempt to divert attention from real issues.
In a statement issued here after reports of a First Information Report (FIR) filed against him and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda over alleged irregularities in a string of land deals in Gurgaon, Mr Vadra said, “Election season, increase in oil prices...so let’s divert real people’s issues with my decade old issue. What’s new?”
The FIR has been registered against Robert Vadra, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Hooda, DLF Company Gurugram and Onkareshwar Properties Gurugram in an alleged Gurugram land grab case.
The FIR says that Mr Vadra’s company Sky Light Hospitality purchased land in Gurgaon’s Sector 83, Shikohpur, Sikandarpur, Khedki Daula and Sihi for Rs. 7.5 crore and sold it back for Rs. 55 crore after a change in its classification. (UNI)
