Continual rise of FDI narrating success saga of Make In India: PM Modi at Mann Ki Baat

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the success of the "Make In India" initiative and urged the country to produce quality products of global standards.

PM Modi said the continual rise of FDI in the country is narrating the success saga of the "Make In India" initiative. Make in India campaign has provided an opportunity to people of every class to showcase their talent.

" Today, India has become a manufacturing powerhouse, and it is because of the youth power of the country that the whole world is looking up to us. Every sector of the country's exports is constantly rising. The continual rise of FDI in the country is narrating the success saga of Make in India," he said.

PM Modi said Now we are mainly focusing on two things… The first is 'Quality’, that is, goods made in our country should be of global standards… and the other is 'Vocal for Local. That means, local products should get maximum promotion."

Highlighted the importance of "water conservation." Prime Minister Modi praised the efforts of women to make it a momentum across the country.

PM Modi said, “For the last few weeks, it has been raining heavily in different parts of the country. This rainy season reminds us how important 'water conservation' is."

He said, "Water saved during rainy days helps a lot during water scarcity months, and that's the spirit of campaigns like 'Catch the Rain.'

The Prime Minister also shared the success stories of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

He said, “In Raipura Village of Dindori, Madhya Pradesh, construction of a large pond has raised the groundwater level considerably. The women of this village benefitted from this."

PM Modi also spoke on the popularity of the “Swachh Bharat Mission," saying, “Due to the success of the 'Swachh Bharat Mission' the Waste to Wealth' mantra is becoming popular among people. People have started talking about Reduce, Reuse and Recycle."

Calling upon to plant saplings, PM Modi highlighted the success of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative. "When our collective participation combines with our determination, it produces amazing results for the entire society. The most recent example of this is 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'," he added.

PM Modi informed that Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana have created a new record by planting more saplings than the set target.

"Under this campaign, more than 26 crore saplings have been planted in Uttar Pradesh, 15 crore in Gujarat, and more than 6 crore saplings were planted in Rajasthan in the month of August alone," he added.

During the address, the Prime Minister also reflected on the 10-year anniversary of his radio show and said, “This episode today is going to make me emotional. It's flooding me with a lot of old memories... The reason is that this journey of ours in Mann Ki Baat is completing 10 years."

He added that the listeners of Mann Ki Baat are the real anchors of this show, and it has proved how hungry the people of the country are for positive information."

During his address, PM Modi also spoke on the return of ancient artifacts by the US, said, “We are all very proud of our heritage. I always say 'Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi'. There is a lot of discussion about the return of our ancient artefacts by the US.

He added, "US President Joe Biden, very affectionately, showed me some of these artefacts in his private residence in Delaware. Returned artifacts are made of materials such as terracotta, stone, ivory, wood, copper, and bronze."

Highlighting the Make in India initiative, PM Modi said, "Today, it gives me immense joy to see that the poor, the middle class, and MSMEs are getting a lot of benefit from this campaign.'

While concluding his show, PM Modi greeted everyone for upcoming festivals and urged them to buy 'Made in India' products during the festival. He asserted that only buying clay-made lamps (diyas) would not achieve the purpose of supporting local traders, we should buy a range of products.
