COVID-19: India caseload rises to 98.57 lakh, recovery rate at 94.93%

New Delhi: Continuing with the downward trend, India on Sunday clocked 30,254 fresh nCoV infections, the Union Health Ministry update said here.

With the new cases, the country’s overall tally has now reached 98,57,029, the update added.

Active caseload on the country has further come down by 3,273 during the past 24 hours with more recoveries recorded than new cases.

Presently, the nation is home to 3,56,546 active cases of the COVID contagion.

However, with 391 more lives lost due to COVID in the past 24 hours, and the country’s pandemic death toll has now mounted to 1,43,019, the government data said.

Meanwhile, there were 33,136 patients who recovered from the viral infection since the past day, taking the total number of recoveries till date to 93,57,464.

According to the ICMR, 15,37,11,833 cumulative samples have been tested so far, for the virus spread till date.

In percentage, active cases are 3.62 per cent, discharged cases 94.93 per cent and deaths 1.45 per cent of the total case count so far. (UNI)
