Meanwhile reacting to waterlogging in different parts of the city which resulted due to heavy rain in the National Capital, Delhi Pradesh Congress President Anil Chaudhary in his statement said that heavy waterlogging unmasked the ''faulty working'' of both the ruling parties of AAP in Delhi & BJP in Municipal Corporations.
He said that even the rain water entered into the houses of poor people at Anna Nagar near ITO and many houses got damaged due to rain water. Heavy rains which lashed various parts of Delhi on Sunday morning, resulted in waterlogging and traffic jams in various parts of the city.Following the incessant rainfall, a bus got stuck in a waterlogged road at the Minto Bridge underpass.The driver and the conductor who were trapped inside the bus were rescued by fire department personnel.
Reacting to the Minto Bridge incident, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah in a tweet said, '' No Delhi monsoon is complete without a ''bus stuck under Minto bridge'' story. Thankfully this year is no different.''
According to the Met Department, 74.8 mm rainfall was recorded till 0830 hrs.The Delhi Traffic Police said traffic was affected from Azadpur to Mukarba Chowk, Yashwant Place to Ashoka Road, at Ring Road, Bhairon Road, and near Mundka metro station due to waterlogging.(UNI)
