Mumbai: Evict hawkers from all railway foot over bridges in 15 days, if not, from 16th day, his partymen will remove all hawkers, warned Maharashtra Nivnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday. Addressing a mammoth rally at Churchgate station, Mr Thackeray said he has given warning to railway authorities to remove hawkers from all railway foot over bridge in 15 days, if not from 16th day his partymen will remove them. Mr Thaeckery also said 'Bullet Train' was being brought only for a handful of Gujaratis. "Why should we pay the loan for a project which is for the benefit of a few." Nothing has changed with the change of the government.

People are being crushed like ants in the state and officials are busy in high-level meetings, he alleged. In his 25-minute-long speech, he appealed to judges in the country, editors of media to rise in protest against the wrong policies of the government. He targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP government over demonetisation and economic slowdown, saying 'I have never seen a PM who lies so much.' The rally started from Metro theatre to Churchgate to protest against Railways' poor infrastructure, after the Elphinstone Road station against stampede that killed 23 people on September 29.

Security forces were deployed to prevent any untoward incident during Mr Thackeray's one-km march from Metro cinema to Churchgate station at Western Railway Headquarters. Heavy security arrangements were made to maintain law and order in the city. Mr Thackeray's family members, including his wife Sharmila, his son Amit and daughter Urvashi were also present in the rally. Mumbai police had, however, denied permission to MNS for morcha. (UNI)
