Facebook, Instagram block Indian Army's Chinar Corps pages

Srinagar: For over a week now, Facebook and Instagram have blocked pages of Indian Army's Srinagar based sensitive Chinar Corps, officials said on Tuesday.
The 15 Corps also called Chinar corps deals with anti-militancy operations in Kashmir Valley as well as the volatile Line of Control. No immediate reason is known as to why the two social media pages of Chinar Corps have been blocked.
“The issue of blocking the pages for over a week has been taken up with concern in Facebook,” the officials privy to the development said. “There has been no response so far.”
Chinar Corps Facebook and Instagram pages have large following and these pages would keep people apprised about the happenings in Kashmir.
In 2019, the Twitter handle of Chinar Corps was suspended for some time. It was later restored. The handle now has 228,254 followers. (UNI)
