Hassan: In a development that has rocked Karnataka politics, HD Revanna, a prominent MLA and leader of the JDS, has labeled the recent sex scandal involving his son, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, as a "conspiracy."
Revanna vehemently denied the allegations, asserting that the "obscene videos" in question are "4-5 years old" and vowed not to retreat in fear.
The scandal erupted just two days before the first phase of the Lok Sabha election in Karnataka on April 26, when multiple purported sex videos of Prajwal surfaced, sparking a massive controversy. Subsequently, a case was filed against him and his father by a household member, alleging sexual harassment.
"I am fully aware of the conspiracy at play here. I won't be intimidated into retreat. These allegations stem from something that happened 4-5 years ago," the JD(S) leader declared.
Following the uproar, the Karnataka government announced a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), and an FIR was registered.
Responding to allegations that Prajwal reportedly left the country with stakes against him, Revanna clarified that his son was anyway going abroad, and claimed that he was unaware of the impending FIR.
Regarding potential party action against Prajwal, he hinted that the decision rests with the party's high command.
Emphasising adherence to the law, Revanna asserted, "Let the state government investigate." He referenced the party's history of facing investigations under previous administrations, highlighting a commitment to due process.
