High alert on Indo-Nepal border for tracing out Honeypreet

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh police has issued high alert on the Indo-Nepal border to nab Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s close aide and adopted daughter Honeypreet Insaan, who is on the run, with a caution that she could be in a veil or burqa to escape the police.
Officials said that instructions have been issued in all the border police stations of Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Bahriach, Balrampur, Sidharthnagar, Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit districts bordering Nepal to keep a strict lookout for women wearing veils or burqas.
The directives were issued on a report from the Intelligence Agency apprehending that Honeypreet could try to sneak into Nepal. Photographs of Honeypreet have been circulated in all the police stations in these districts while two women constables have been posted in each police stations on the Indo-Nepal border, sources said. “We are not allowing any woman or girl to cross over without physical frisking by women constables and document verification by jawans.
Night patrolling on the open border has been intensified and we are keeping round the clock vigil on those crossing over,” the sources said. Earlier, a team of Haryana police team visited Lakhimpur Kheri when a car from Haryana was found abandoned near the Indo-Nepal border. (UNI)
