Bhopal: The brothers of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was murdered in Shillong on May 23, announced that a movie based on Raja's life and his gruesome killing would be made and it would be titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong'.
Raja's brothers Sachin and Vipin told media persons at their residence in Indore on Tuesday that the family has decided to make the movie. The brothers said that almost everything including the cast, shooting schedule, and locations of the shoot for the movie have been decided.
They, however, did not disclose further details of the project.
"Every aspect of the movie has been finalised. But it is all a suspense as of now. We will disclose everything about the movie later," said Sachin Raghuvanshi.
"The only thing I can tell now is the movie's title is 'Honeymoon in Shillong'," Sachin stated.
A poster of the movie was also put up on a wall of a room of the Raghuvanshi family's house. Under the poster was placed late Raja's garlanded portrait.
In the poster, the name of the movie's director is S P Nimbawat, its producer is A R Sir, and the casting director is Aakash Sharma.
Nimbawat was present with the Raghuvanshi family at their house on Tuesday.
The shocking murder case that caught the attention of the entire country, and foreign media too, is still under trial at Shillong, however, and its judgement is awaited.
Raja Raghuvanshi (29), a transport businessman of Indore, got married to Sonam Raghuvanshi (25), also of Indore, on 11 May. They reached Shillong in Meghalaya on 20 May, for their honeymoon.
However, both went missing there on 23 May. Raja’s body was found in a deep gorge near a waterfall in the Sohra (Cherrapunji) area on 2 June.
The Meghalaya police registered a case of murder and launched investigations.
Meanwhile, Sonam remained missing for the next seven days, despite extensive search operations.
In the wee hours of 9 June, Sonam was located at a dhaba at Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. She was initially detained and subsequently arrested, on suspicion of being the main mastermind behind her husband’s murder.
Following that, four more accused were arrested, including three suspected hired killers from Indore and Bina in Madhya Pradesh, and another suspect from Uttar Pradesh.
The Meghalaya police took all the four men, Raj Kushwaha, Vishal Chauhan, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput, on transit remand from a Court at Indore to Shillong on 10 June.
