A Hyderabad man allegedly killed his wife, then chopped her body into multiple pieces and boiled them in a pressure cooker before dumping it in a lake.

Guru Murthy, a 45-year-old ex-serviceman from the Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, made these claims during a police investigation after his wife went missing. The police said they are verifying the claims.

The incident took place in New Venkateshwara Nagar Colony in Meerpet.

Venkata Madhavi, 35, was reported missing by the family on January 16. Gurumurthy was married to Madhavi for 13 years and the couple has two children.

Murthy works as an outsourced security guard at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) facility in Kanchan Bagh.

When police began the investigation, they were suspicious of Murthy. Upon questioning him, the man confessed to the crime.

As per reports, Murthy claimed that he chopped the body in the bathroom and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker. He then separated the bones, ground them using a pestle and boiled them again. He then reportedly packed and dumped them into Meerpet Lake.

According to the police, Madhavi wanted to visit her native place Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh for the Sankranti festival, and had an argument over this with her husband on the day she went missing. Their two children were at his sister’s house, he added.

The police said they are verifying his claims and gave not found any body parts of the woman.
