IAF aircrafts rumble in skies showering flowers as tribute to Covid warriors (Videos)

New Delhi: Indian Air-Space on Sunday witnessed rumbling IAF aircrafts through the skies from Srinagar to Thiruvananthapuram and Dibrugarh to the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat, and showered flower petals across the state capitals on hospitals and other places as a tribute to the ‘Covid warriors’ by the Defence Forces.

The complete fly-pasts by the fighter jets, showering of petals by the IAF choppers, band performances outside hospitals by Army is taking place across the country to felicitate the frontline covid warriors including the Doctors, healthcare workers , sanitation workers , Police Personnel and others.

These activities began with TRI -Services chiefs honouring the police personnel by laying flowers at the National Police Memorial in New Delhi on Sunday morning, following which the fighter jets roared past the Rajpath while helicopters showered flowers at key hospitals treating the COVID patients.

Sukhoi aircrafts flew past the skies in Mumbai, thanking the COVID warriors in the fight against the deadly virus in the worst affected city across the nation.

In the evening, the Navy ships along the coasts will showcase formations with lighting on the ships, as a tribute to the COVID warriors.

The announcement regarding these was made by the Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat on Friday evening after the decision was taken following a meeting of the tri- services chiefs, CDS, Raksha Mantri and the NSA. (UNI)
