The Embassy of India in Tehran on Monday issued a fresh advisory urging Indian nationals in Iran not to approach or attempt to cross any land border without prior coordination with the embassy.

In the advisory, the embassy emphasized that no Indian citizen should try to leave Iran via land borders for onward travel without explicit guidance and approval from embassy officials.

The mission said it remains in regular contact with members of the Indian community and is working to make necessary coordinated travel arrangements where required. However, it strongly warned against any unplanned or independent movement toward border areas.

“Uncoordinated movement toward land borders is strongly discouraged,” the advisory stated.

The embassy cautioned that Indians who attempt to exit Iran without informing or consulting the embassy could face serious logistical and immigration challenges. It further warned that once individuals leave Iranian territory without prior coordination, the embassy may not be able to provide assistance.

“All Indian nationals in Iran are advised to strictly follow embassy advisories and remain in contact with official channels before undertaking any travel,” the statement added.

To assist citizens with travel-related queries or emergencies, the embassy has also released several helpline numbers and an official email contact.

Helpline Numbers:

+98 912 810 9102

Indian nationals in Iran have been urged to stay alert and maintain communication with the embassy for updated guidance.
