In a shocking incident, a man was killed for refusing to serve sev at a bhandara in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Dharmendra, a resident of Kulkarni Ka Bhatta who used to install paver blocks.
The incident occurred around in Pardesipura area on Friday midnight at a bhandara, organised for Maha Shivratri.
Dharmendra’s brother Devendra said that a bhandara was organised on the occasion of Mahashivratri and they had gone to eat around 8 pm. When Dharmendra brought sev-nukti for him, Sanjay Bangar, Abhishek Bangar and Akash demanded some as well. When he refused, they started abusing him, leading to an argument. However, the locals managed to diffuse the situation, and Dharmendra went home.
Devendra further said that Dharmendra went back to the spot to retrieve his slippers but was confronted by the accused's family members. The situation turned violent when they grabbed him by the collar, and the three accused brutally assaulted him. During the fight, they stabbed him in the abdomen. We rushed him to MY Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead during the examination.
Police have registered a case of murder against Sanjay Bangar, Abhishek Bangar and Akash.
Additional DCP Amarendra Singh said, “Two accused have been taken into custody. The two parties involved in the dispute do not have any criminal record. All the three accused are labourers.”
