This was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a post on social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter).

Her presence in the Rajya Sabha is a powerful testament to our 'Nari Shakti', exemplifying the strength and potential of women in shaping our nation's destiny. Wishing her a fruitful Parliamentary tenure," the PM said.
President Droupadi Murmu on Friday nominated educator, author and philanthropist Sudha Murty to the Rajya Sabha.
Born on August 19, 1950, in Karnataka's Shiggaon, she began her career as a computer scientist and engineer.
Sudha Murty, wife of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, is a prolific writer in Kannada and English, authoring novels, technical books, and travelogues.
She is the mother of Akshata Murty, who is married to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
