New Delhi/Lahore: At least 15 Hindu students of Punjab University Law College, in Lahore, Pakistan, were reported to be injured after they were attacked by members of an Islamist outfit for celebrating Holi on the campus lawns.
Videos of the attack, showing Islamists chasing the minority Hindu students and throwing stones at them to disperse the gathering, have gone viral. The university administration guards were also among those sent to disperse the gathering of Sindhi Hindu students.
According to twitter reports, members of the Islami Jamiat-e-Tulba attacked the Hindu minority students who were celebrating the Holi festival at Punjab University, Lahore, on Monday.
The university spokesperson was also seen defending the attack, saying the minority students did not have permission for the celebration. One of the Hindu students was heard saying that they were just cutting a cake and were not using colours.
Some of the Hindu students held banners saying “Save Minorities”. They said they were pelted with stones and have no freedom to do anything. They were then seen running as they were chased by stone pelters.
Fifteen of the Hindu students were injured in the attack, and some had to be hospitalised.
