Jairam Thakur took oath as Himachal CM in ceremony

Shimla: Jairam Thakur took oath as Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister in the swearing in ceremony organized at the historic Ridge Maidan in Shimla. It also turned out to be a mega show of strength of Bharatiya Janata Party as, among others, CM's of BJP-ruled states graced the occasion. Interestingly, in the oath taking ceremony of Vijay Rupani as Gujarat CM on Tuesday; among others, CM's of BJP-ruled states were invited.
In the recently-concluded state Assembly polls, BJP snatched the hill state from Congress after bagging 44 out of 68 seats. Congress here could win only 20 seats. Jai Ram Thakur, five-times MLA of BJP, will succeed Virbhadra Singh of Congress as the HP CM. (UNI)
