Jaya's 3rd death anniv : AIADMK takes out silent rally

Chennai: The ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu on Thursdaytook out a silent procession and paid floral tributes at the memorial of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on the occasion of her third death anniversary. 
Clad in black shirts, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edpapadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who were also the Joint Coordinator and Coordinator of the AIADMK respectively, accompanied by Ministers,MPs, MLAs and tens and hudreds of party functionaries took part in the silent procession which commenced near Anna statue and culminated atMs Jayalalithaa's memorial on the Marina beach front, which was decorated with flowers, along with the Party's 'Two Leaves' symbol.
 
After offering floral tributes at her memorial, the AIADMK members vowed to strive hard to work on the path laid down by the late leader, who helped in party's growth through her sacrifice and skills. 
 
Mr Palaniswami and Mr Panneerserlvam administered the pledge to the AIADMK leaders, functionaries and party cadres. Later, the AIADMK members observed two minutes' silence to mark the occasion.
 
Tens and hundreds of AIADMK cadres from various parts of the state, carrying portraits of Jayalalithaa, thronged the city to mark the occasion, resulting in traffic snarls at several roads as traffic was diverted in view of the procession.
 
Later, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazahgam (AMMK) Founder TTV Dhinakaran along with his supporters also took out a silent procession and paid floral tributes at the memorial of Ms Jayalalithaa.
 
Elsewhere in the state, AIADMK and AMMK cadres paid floral tributes to decorated portraits of Ms Jayalalithaa to mark the occasion.
 
Ms Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospital on September 22, 2017 and after 75 days of treatment, passed away this day in that year.(UNI)
