Kejriwal promises upto 300 units of electricity if AAP voted to power in Goa

Panaji:Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced that each household in the state would get up to 300 units of electricity free if his party came to power in 2022 assembly elections.
Addressing a press conference in the city, 'Every family will get up to 300 units per month free electricity. If people in Delhi can get free electricity, then why not free power for people in Goa?.”
 
He pointed out that in spite of the coastal state having power surplus, there were frequent power cuts.
 
He claimed that 87 per cent Goans would benefit from the move and old bills would be waived off.
 
The Delhi Chief Minister said while there would be power supply for 24 hours, farmers would get free electricity.
 
Mr Kejriwal slammed ten Congress MLAs who quit their party in June 2019 and joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
 
'The MLAs who switched sides had said that they joined BJP for the sake of development. What development have they done? Did they do people's work as they claimed? Now people are saying that they switched sides for lure of money. People feel betrayed,” the AAP leader said.
 
Mr Kejriwal, who is on a two day visit to the state, said the fact was that those who should have been in the opposition were in the government and those who should have been in the government were in the opposition.
 
Elections to the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly are to be held in February 2022.AAP had contested 39 seats in the 2017 assembly elections but failed to win any of them.
 
Portion of Syro-Malabar Church has been demolished by DDA, will ensure justice: Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said that a portion of the Syro-Malabar church in Chattarpur (South Delhi) was demolished by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) which comes under central government.
 
Addressing a press conference, he said perhaps DDA had taken action following order of the High Court.
 
He, however, assured that justice would be done.
 
'It was done by DDA which is under central government. DDA is not under Delhi government. DDA perhaps went to the high court which gave an order and DDA has taken that action. Our local MLA is with the church and we are providing the support required. It there was an stay, it should not have happened. I don't know the legal aspect. When I landed here then I was told that it has happened. I will go back, study and I can assure you that justice will be done. Whatever is right will be done,' he said.
 
On July 12, civic authorities had reportedly demolished a portion of the Syro-Malabar church in Chattarpur (South Delhi). This had forced the Church members to cry foul.(UNI)
