Speculations of various hues have started doing rounds in Bihar following RJD chief Lalu Prasad's invite to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to join the Grand Alliance again.Lalu on Wednesday opened the gate of Grand Alliance for Kumar, saying he should return to alliance again deserting BJP. If Kumar returned to Grand Alliance, he would forgive all his "mistakes" committed in the past, he remarked." It is time that Nitish should work with us together, " RJD chief said triggering intense speculations over possibilities of any new political equation taking shape in new year.
Political circles are agog with a series of speculations of various hues after the statement of Lalu inviting Nitish to return to the Grand Alliance again.Chief Minister Kumar appeared to be not so encouraged with invitation of Lalu at the moment. " Leave aside what Lalu is saying, let him say, " he remarked.On the other hand, Tejashwi told media persons that Lalu had said such things to calm down repeated queries of media persons on the issue.It's nothing more than cooling down the heat created by media for a new political alignment, he remarked.
As it is, Nitish had deserted BJP in 2013 when Narendra Modi was projected as PM candidate for 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He had formed Grand Alliance with RJD as its major partner in 2015 but parted ways in 2017 to join hands with BJP to form NDA government. In August 2022, he again deserted BJP to join hands with RJD to form Grand Alliance government. In January 2024, making another political " U " turn Nitish had returned to NDA.(UNI)
