Former Deputy Prime Minister and veteran BJP leader L K Advani will be conferred with Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of the country.The announcement was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his social media handle X.Through his post, the PM said that he spoke to LK Advani and congratulated him on being conferred this honour.
Narendra Modi on X said, "I am very happy to share that Shri LK Advani Ji will be conferred the Bharat Ratna. I also spoke to him and congratulated him on being conferred this honour".
"One of the most respected statesmen of our times, his contribution to the development of India is monumental. His is a life that started from working at the grassroots to serving the nation as our Deputy Prime Minister. He distinguished himself as our Home Minister and I&B Minister as well. His Parliamentary interventions have always been exemplary, full of rich insights," he added.
PM Modi expresses his delight on conferring Bharat Ratna to Advani
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed his delight in announcing the government’s decision to confer former Deputy Prime Minister of India Lal Krishna Advani with the Bharat Ratna.
Inaugurating the new campus of IIM Sambalpur and addressing the students, Modi lauded the unparalleled contributions of Advani as the Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister and Information and Broadcasting Minister of India as well as decades of experience as a distinguished and loyal Member of Parliament.
The Prime Minister said “Honouring Advani ji with the Bharat Ratna is a symbol that the nation never forgets those who dedicate their lives to its service.
He thanked his good fortune for the love, blessings and guidance shown by L K Advani upon him, and prayed for his long life as he congratulated him on behalf of all citizens.(UNI)
