New Delhi: Price of LPG domestic cylinder has been hiked by Rs 25, effective from July 1.
As per an officer of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder, earlier priced at Rs 809, will now cost Rs 834.50.
In the financial capital of the country and Kolkata too, the price will be Rs 834.50 per cylinder, while in Chennai, Rs 850.50.
LPG price now has been increased by Rs 140 per cylinder in the last six months.
On the LPG price hike, Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram took a jibe on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying "Modi hai, Mumkin hai."
He said how the prices have risen, "Mr Modi's government and LPG prices in 2020 to 2021, from Rs 594 in November 2020 to price as of July 1, 2021 Rs 834." (UNI)
