Madhya Pradesh Tourism organising City walk festival in 11 major cities of state

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, one of the most active tourism boards in India, in association with India City Walks Delhi is organising ''City Walks'' in 11 major destinations in the state in October and November.
The second edition of City Walks, envisaged to celebrate rich cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh through theme based curated walks for tourists and local residents, will be held in capital Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Panna, Vidisha, Khajuraho, Chanderi, Jabalpur, Burhanpur and Orchha.
Officials of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board said ''Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board(MPTB)'s initiative of organising the City Walks Festival in Madhya Pradesh is our commitment to promote tourism activities in the state, our inheritance is our history and is also a testimony of our culture and traditions.''
They invited people to join in the great initiative and help in contributing towards the invaluable legacy of Madhya Pradesh by creating awareness and vivid experiences around them for local and global travellers.
Walks will be led by a local walk leader from each city. He will be selected as Walk Leader by India City Walks for delivery of highest quality experience to participants.
The walks will be conducted simultaneously at each destination during all weekends from October 12 till November 10 and aimed at counting approximately 100 walks for more than 2,000 participants.
The main focus of the event is to create awareness in the state around cultural, heritage, culinary, art, architecture, spiritual and eco-tourism destinations of Madhya Pradesh. All age group weather domestic or international tourists are invited for these walks.
A calendar will be created for the festival and appropriate marketing would be done. Sign-up to conduct the walks and also participation will be through online medium. Many contests such as best photography, best blog and best walk leaders will be held during the festival.
The ''Walk Icons'' will also be identified in the process and will be the Brand Ambassadors for a destination and its heritage among others. Walk Icons are veterans in their respective fields, they will act as flag bearers of the City Walks Festival organised by India City Walks and enabled by City Explorers and India with Locals for MPTB.
City walks will be based on various themes like heritage walk, foot walk, textile walk, photography walk and spiritual walk, according to a statement here.(UNI)
