Bhopal: The National Commission for Women's investigation committee will probe a 'love jihad' case involving rape and alleged blackmail of several girl students in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal.

According to the information given by the commission, the National Commission for Women took immediate action on the serious incident of rape of several girl students in a college in Bhopal and took suo motu cognisance and directed the officials to take appropriate action.

Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has formed a 3-member investigation committee, led by former director general of police Nirmal Kaur, based on the incident's facts.

The investigation committee will visit Bhopal from May 3-5 to meet all parties and submit a detailed report to the commission, ensuring punishment for culprits and justice for victims.

The case involves a college in Bhopal, where four accused have been arrested for allegedly raping college girls. The accused not only raped the girls by trapping them in a love trap but also made videos of them and blackmailed them.

It is alleged that the accused, while trapping some girls, also contacted their friends and then made them victims too. The accused forced the victims into drugs and also pressured them to change their religion.

All four accused belong to a particular religion, which made the girls their victims in a planned manner.

So far, about half-a-dozen girls have come forward in this case, who have contacted the police. It is expected that as the police action progresses, more girls may also come forward.

It is alleged that the accused were constantly harassing the girls and also shared the video clips of harassment and sexual exploitation.
