Maha: EC resolves 7,784 complaints of poll code violations; Rs 557 cr assets seized

The Election Commission (EC) in Maharashtra has resolved 7,784 complaints of model code violations in the last one month and seized assets worth over Rs 557 crore by its agencies, as announced by the Office of the Chief Election Officer (CEO) on Sunday.A total of 7,820 complaints were received on the C-Vigil application across the Maharashtra state between October 15 and November 16 for the Assembly General Election 2024.

Citizens can file a complaint about Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations through the C-Vigil mobile application developed by the EC. This app can be downloaded from any app store. After the complaint is filed, appropriate action is taken after investigation by the concerned teams.Various enforcement agencies of the state and central governments have seized assets worth Rs 557 crore (76 lakh) since October 15 in operations against illegal money, liquor, drugs, precious metals, etc., the statement further stated.

Effective implementation of the code of conduct is underway across the state, a statement added.The poll campaign will end on the evening of November 18, and polling will be held on November 20, while the result will be declared on November 23.Meanwhile, campaigns by different political parties across the state on the final stage will organise public rallies, road shows, meetings, door-to-door campaigns, and using digital boards on campaign vehicles.

Main fights will be seen between ruling Mahayuti and opposition Maha Vikas Agadhi. Aprat from it MNS, VBA, Mahaparivartan Agadhi, AIMIM, and numbers of smaller parties in the poll fray to elect 288 members for the 15th state assembly in the state.(UNI)
