Mumbai: An octogenarian resident of Mumbai's Malbar Hill area has been charged with molestation for allegedly molesting a 20-year-old domestic helper inside his apartment.
The police said the octogenarian, who is a retired businessman, has not been arrested yet due to his old age but was let off after being served a notice as per provisions of the law.
We are probing the matter, and further action will be taken as per the findings of the investigation, an official of the local Malbar Hill police station added, which has registered the offence.
According to the police, the 20-year-old woman previously worked at a house in Santacruz. But after working there for three years, she decided to find work close to her house. Her brother-in-law introduced her to the 45-year-old daughter of the octogenarian.
“The octogenarian couple and their 45-year-old daughter stay in a three BHK apartment in Malabar Hill. The victim started working there from September 9,” said an officer from Malabar Hill police station.
