Nagpur: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers on Tuesday stormed a Yes Bank branch at Sadar in Maharashtra's Nagpur city, protesting the alleged unfair auction of a farmer’s JCB machine, a senior police official told UNI.
The protest centered around farmer Indrajeet Mule from Nagpur district, who had purchased a JCB machine with a loan from Yes Bank.
After reportedly defaulting on a few installments, the bank seized the machine. Mule later claimed he approached the bank with a willingness to pay the outstanding dues to reclaim the vehicle.
However, the bank allegedly auctioned it off without his knowledge or consent.
Frusted by lack of response, Mule reached out to local MNS leaders for help.
Subsequently, MNS activists gathered at the bank and launched an aggressive protest.
The situation quickly spiraled, with workers allegedly blackening the bank’s signboard and physically assaulting a bank staff member.
