Chennai: Asserting that Tamil Nadu would never accept the NEP or none could force it to do so, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin on Monday condemned Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for speaking arrogantly in Parliament without providing due funds for the State and sought to know whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepts it.

In a social media post, he said Mr Pradhan, who speaks with arrogance as if he were a king, should learn restraint.

He took objections to his remarks calling Tamil Nadu MPs uncivilized and deceiving the State by withholding its rightful funds.

Stating that Mr Pradhan was insulting the people of Tamil Nadu, Mr Stalin asked whether Mr Modi accepts this and sought to know whether Mr Pradhan could release the funds rightfully meant for Tamil Nadu students, which have been collected from the State's own tax contributions, or not.

Declaring that Tamil Nadu will act only in accordance with the will of the people and not obey the words of Nagpur like you do, the Chief Minister said Tamil Nadu was neither willing to accept the NEP, which eugoloised implementing the three-language policy in the state, nor none could force it on the State to do so.

Mr Stalin wrote on X condemning Mr Dharmendra Pradhan, who speaks arrogantly without providing funds for Tamil Nadu.

"Union Education Minister,Thiru. Dharmendra Pradhan, who speaks with arrogance as if he were a king, needs to learn restraint!", he said.

"You are deceiving Tamil Nadu by withholding its rightful funds, yet you call Tamil Nadu MPs uncivilized?", Mr Stalin said.

"You are insulting the people of Tamil Nadu. Does the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Thiru. Narendra Modi, accept this?", he sought to know.

"Was it not you who wrote me a letter stating that Tamil Nadu had completely rejected the NEP, the three-language policy, and the PM SHRI MoU?", Mr Stalin pointed out.

"Mr. Pradhan, we act only in accordance with the will of the people! Not by obeying the words of Nagpur like you do!!", he said, adding "We are neither willing to implement your scheme nor can anyone force us to do so."

"Can you at least respond to a simple question—can you release the funds rightfully meant for Tamil Nadu students, which have been collected from our own tax contributions, or not?", he asked.
