Bengaluru: A social worker filed a rape and sexual harassment complaint against former Karnataka minister and BJP legislator Munirathna, representing the Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency, in Ramanagara district on Thursday, police said.
The MLA is currently in judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, following his arrest for allegedly threatening a corporator and using caste-based insults.
According to the complaint, the social worker alleged that Munirathna, along with six others — Vijaya Kumar, Sudhakara, Kiran Kumar, Lohith Gowda, Manjunath, and Loki — recorded objectionable videos to blackmail her over several years.
A case has been registered under multiple penal provisions dealing with rape, criminal intimidation, sexual harassment, voyeurism, criminal conspiracy and extortion.
Earlier this week, two FIRs were filed against Munirathna at Vyalikaval police station, relating to allegations of criminal intimidation, corruption, and casteist abuse.
