New Delhi: The government today raised the creamy layer ceiling for the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to Rs eight lakh per annum from the current Rs six lakh for central government jobs.
Addressing the mediapersons here, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, “The government has accepted the proposal of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to raise the creamy layer ceiling for the OBCs to Rs eight lakh.” The decision has been taken after the Social Justice Ministry sent a cabinet note to the government a year ago.Those in the OBC category earning upto Rs 8 lakh annually will now be included in the reservation for the central government jobs and education.(UNI)
